OPERATION PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) (Daniel 9:1-27)First reading: Genesis 32:24-28 - All members

Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Prayer point: Oh Lord, give me a reason to thank you always
1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.
Refrain:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of Christ my Savior;
standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.
2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)
3. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love's strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)
4. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
listening every moment to the Spirit's call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)
I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

Your light and salvation (Psalm 27:1-14)

Your light and salvation (Psalm 27:1-14)
Matthew 6:22
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
A lot of people grope about in darkness spiritually. They wander without the real life purpose and care less about spiritual things. Spiritual things? Yes, the earlier everyone understands that she or he is spiritual the better. Do you know you are spiritual? I am not talking about religion. I am talking about the real essence of your personality. You are deeper than you think and I think the creator made it so.
Psalm 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
The only reason why such people grope in darkness is just because they are still struggling with or perhaps have not heard of the real light of the world and of all humanity.
John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
To such people even the nearest future is so bleak that they cannot discern today. It is necessary to emphasis how much you need the light. In fact more you need the physical light in your house and environment. Light is so indispensable, but as it were light is available even in the physical realm but not everyone is able to see it. This could be so frustrating. That is exactly the same thing that happens in the spiritual realm. Spiritual light is available but not everyone is able to see it and use it. Not everyone even care whether there is any light anywhere. This is the reason why they are groping in darkness.
John 9:39
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. 40 And some
of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
Light is so indispensable for the eye to function. Have you ever experienced a total darkness, may be in a dark room or dark night? How useful was your eye at that point? Nearly useless. This is because the eye can only see when light is present. This is the same thing in the spiritual realm. It is so frustrating if there is no light around you physically or spiritually. You need the light today.
Jeremiah 6:16
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
As for David, he knew that the only light that can light his realms sufficiently enough is Christ. Even though he lived several thousands of years before Christ was born he knew well enough that Christ is the light of the world. More than this he knew that the same person is both the light and the salvation. He is the guide through life and eternity.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
This is a great lesson for us. We claim to be more modern, civilised and up to date than the olden days people. This might be true to a large extent, but we need to be up to date spiritually as well. You need Jesus Christ as your light and salvation. Not only is Jesus the light spiritually, he is the light physically as well. That is why any person, any nation and any people that do not have Christ will still continue to grope in darkness.
John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it
more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Are you tired of groping in darkness? Are you sick of the constant fear of the unknown? Are you scared of the eternity to come? Do you discard the realm of the spirit as non existent for fear of something too deep? Turn your life to Jesus Christ today and you will have enough light to see what lies ahead. You will have the author and finisher of spiritual salvation. You can even do it now as well as renew your commitment to the Lord of your salvation. God bless you.

Peace be still (Matthew 14:22-33)

Peace be still (Matthew 14:22-33)
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
After the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus was not done yet in proving his sonship, power and grace. He straightaway went to pray and told his disciples to move ahead across the sea. He sent them on their journey and went to have fellowship with God his father. When he was done praying, he moved by his supernatural strength to join the disciples. By this time they were really struggling with the wind. Just at the point of their despair, Jesus showed up.
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
May Jesus show up in any area of life you are struggling today in the name of Jesus.
His appearance was more trouble at first because he was coming in his supernatural power, walking on the sea. He knows they were troubled so he spoke a word of comfort, it is I, do not be afraid.
Isaiah 40:1
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
Peter was excited but the wind was till on. Peter asked Jesus, whoa, you are walking on the water despite the wind, can I come with you as well? Yes come. Peter was focused on Jesus for a while and without thinking he jumped on the water and started walking. This is enough to confuse your analysis. According to a man of God, if you analyse God, you paralyse yourself.
Job 9:10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number. 11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. 12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou? Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent. 14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Both the occurrence and the lessons are very important to us. Before any major breakthrough there are likely to be a lot of contrary winds most times. At the end of the wind comes your breakthrough. Are you facing any contrary wind anywhere? Look ahead, the wind has just come to announce your promotion and breakthrough.
John 16:21
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
When Peter focused on Jesus, he walked on the sea but when he gazed at the wind, he sank. Don’t you know what I mean keep your focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will sail the vicissitudes of life with ease.
Job 14:1
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
Even when Peter started to sink, he knew what to do. He didn’t curse his stars and insult his maker, he called on Jesus to save him.
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Why don’t you learn to call out to Jesus even if you don’t know him yet and he will reach out to save you. He is even inviting you everyday. Yield unto him today and it shall be well with you.
Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Then Jesus demonstrated his authority over the wind. He spoke authoritatively, peace be still. And it was so. I speak by the authority of Jesus today to every turbulence in your health, your job, your marriage, your education, your business, your social status, your spiritual status, in fact all aspects of your troubled life, PEACE BE STILL IN THE NAME OF JESUS. amen

The bones that never died. (Ezekiel 37:1-14)

The bones that never died. (Ezekiel 37:1-14)
2Kings 13:21
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
We all agree that bones are very important in our body. In addition to giving structures and stability, bones protect the body and help in all our movement as human beings.
Job 10:11
Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.
Just as bones are important in the physical, they do have spiritual significance as well. In fact when David sinned he recounted how his bones were broken even without a physical fall and prayed that God should heal his broken bones.
Psalm 51:8
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 31:10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
It actually seems that the physical bones have a way they connect our physical body to our spiritual essence. Nevertheless, Jesus confirmed that spirit being themselves have no bones and flesh as we do, but we might think that our present bone may contain the nucleus of what God will use to form our celestial bodies.
Luke 24:39
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
There even seems to be some spiritual elements in our physical bones.
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Ezekiel 32:27 And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
For one, the bible recorded some sacred facts about bones. Every time corpses are buried, the place the bones lie have a great significance in Israel. Joseph pleaded with his brothers not allow his bones to sleep in a foreign land and the brothers adhered to this after his death.
Genesis 50:25
And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. Exodus 13:19
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
At the valley of dry bones, God taught Ezekiel a serious lesson that is capable of universal interpretations. Whereas the Israelites thought their hope is gone, God was saying something different. For as many who think their hope is gone, what God is saying is that the dry bones will live again. Your dry bones will live again. Your hope will be resurrected and will blossom. The power of God will put live in you again. All Ezekiel had to do was to listen to God and follow his instructions. This could be madatoy at some point in our lives.
Jeremiah 20:9
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word
was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
He was asked to speak a word at a time, a positive word no doubt backed by the power of God. Why don’t you take a second look at that scary situation in your life and see it with the eye of God. Why don’t you take another step and speak a change, a resurrection, a life to that seemingly dead, hopeless situation? It worked for Jeremiah, it will work for you as well because the same God who worked during the time of Jeremiah and Ezekiel is at work today.
Those bones are not actually dead. They are only preserving the future, the endangered destiny. They might seem dry and lifeless, they are not dead. There is life in the dry bones. There is victory in the structure. There is revival in the movement. There is miracle if you dare. Trust God and obey his instructions, you will see his might in display. Those dry bones are the bones that never died. Call them to action. God bless you.

The power of Christian evangelism. Matthew 28:18-20; II Kings 17:22-29,

The power of Christian evangelism. Matthew 28:18-20; II Kings 17:22-29,
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
If the government of any nation knows the power of Christian evangelism, they will cut their police budget by half and invest the second half in Christian evangelism. They will cut their defence budget by half and invest the second half in Christian evangelism. At the end of the year, half of the amount budgeted for internal security and defence will be unspent because there will be less criminals to catch, there will be less wars to fight. The suicide bombers, the rapists, the buglers and armed robbers would have been converted and given a different focus. If the church is doing enough in evangelism, we can boastfully tell the police the number of criminals that will be off the street at the end of the financial year.
The power of salt (Matthew 5:13: Mark 9:50)
The power of light (Matthew 5:14; 6:22)
The exponential factorial ! (Matthew 13:33)
Give tracts. Psalm 68:11
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. Say something. Proverbs 25:11
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Pray for opportunities.1Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Answer questions: how was your day? Great, I went to church and I love it.
Are you ok? No I am not, I couldn’t go to church.
Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
We believe in miracles but there are no more miracles within the confine of the church walls. God has moved the miracle centre to the field outside of the church building. You want to see miracles? You want to perform miracles? You want to become a miracle? Go on evangelism outside of the church. Outside the church, on evangelism field is the new residential address for miracles.
Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Why are we wrestling? Where and when? Evangelism.
Why did Elijah’s fire come down? (II Kings 18:38). Why did Zadrach, Meshac and Abednego walk out of the fire unscathed? (Daniel 3:1-26). Why did Jesus perform all these frightening miracles? (Matthew 8:23-27; 28-34; 9:18-26; 32-33; 14:22-32; 21:18; Luke 7:11-17; John 11:1-44) Why did Peter (Luke 5:8), Paul (I Timothy 1:15) and a whole lot of people receive forgiveness and did unstoppable miracles after? There is only one answer. Evangelism. Ask some of our contemporary evangelists as well.
Evangelism is scientific. When Jesus wanted to win the Pharisees, he went to the Pharisees (Luke 7:36; John 3:1; Acts 5:34). When he wanted to win the Scribes he went to the Scribes (Mathew 23:13-17). When he wanted to win the rich, he went to their houses (Luke 14:1). When he needed the multitude, he went to the market place (Matthew 5:1; 23:1). How could he have won the Samaritans without going to Samaria? John 4:1-42
Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Just like fishing, the water you fish determines the fish you catch. Remember anyway that no fish will ever give itself up.
Whether home or abroad, evangelism might be the only reason why God is still sparing us. Let’s fulfil the purpose of God for our lives. Let’s cooperate with God to fulfil destiny.
Esther 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
God bless you.

Prevailing prayer, prevailing worship, prevailing time (Daniel 9:1-27)

Prevailing prayer, prevailing worship, prevailing time (Daniel 9:1-27)
Prevailing prayer is like wrestling. You have to sweat it out. In Daniel 9, for 21 days the Hebrew slave was fasting and praying for his enslaved nation. His knowledge of prophecy assured him that it was time for their release from captivity. On the contrary there was no freedom in sight, so he decided to iron it out in prayer.
Dan 9:18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. 19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
Thank God he prevailed. My sincere prayer for you is that you will prevail in that situation. But you need encouragement to be able to continue till you prevail. You need people who are daring to prevail like you. Come join this bunch of prevailers in the most inconvenient time to seek God like Daniel did. You will surely prevail.
1Samuel 2:9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
The more issues become tough, tight and difficult, the more you have to pray. This is more easily said than done. When you pray through you will definitely breakthrough. You will prevail. Since there is a God in heaven that answers prayers, we are encouraged to keep on praying until we prevail.
Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Prevailing worship on the other hand is irrespective of what is going on around us. Our conviction of God
s absolute righteousness is unshakable by the temporal fluctuations. Prevailing worship is demonstrating intimacy with God our father and connecting him through our spirit in the name of Jesus. John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
At a point when you breakthrough to the realm of the spirit through prevailing prayer or prevailing worship, time becomes inessential. All you feel is the awesome presence of God, May the Lord lead us to have prevailing time in his presence. When Moses entered into God
s presence on the mount Horeb, he just got lost. Forty days and forty nights were like five minutes tea-break. When he came out nobody could look at his face. It was too radiant with Gods glory. The elders had to cover his face with a veil because his people couldnt look at him. You need to spend more time, real time in Gods presence through prevailing prayer and prevailing worship.
Exodus 24:17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. 18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. ( Read Exodus 34:28-33, for more)

Nevertheless, prevailing prayer and prevailing worship are only possible when we are born again. When we invite Jesus into our heart and accept that he should direct the affairs of our lives.
Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This is when we agree with God that our sins are bad and we turn away from them through God
s help. This is when we make up our mind to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Then we become the children of God through Jesus Christ and then our spirit could meaningfully call Abba Father. The good thing is you can do it now. If you are happy to start a prevailing life, say the following prayer.
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins, the life that I have lived and the wrong things I have done; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your Son Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Saviour. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honour to you alone. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen.
God bless you

Sunday 5 May 2013

Your heaven is opened (Matthew 3:1-17)

Your heaven is opened (Matthew 3:1-17)
Isaiah 64:1
Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, 2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
Both Isaiah and David knew the importance of opened heavens. David earnestly prayed that the Lord would open the heavens. In fact he wanted the doors and windows of heaven removed to permanently have it opened and unlocked. He got the answer to his prayer. The heaven remain permanently opened over David. Even God said that no matter what happens, David had an everlasting opened heavens.
Jeremiah 33:20 Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; 21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
I declare and decree that your heavens will be opened in the name of Jesus. In fact may you have an everlasting opened heaven.
Several years later, when David has gone, his son inherited the opened heaven after him. Solomon continued to thrive under the opened heaven. One day after he finished dedicating the house of God with a great worship service, God’s fire tumbled down. Why? Because the heaven was opened and has remained opened since the time of his father tore off the hinges.
2Chronicles 7:1
Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.
Then it became the turn of Jesus Christ. John the Baptist really described what he saw, an opened heaven. The Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus in the form of a dove, and God the father spoke from heaven. From then onward, Jesus moved from one exploit to another super exploit.. His breathtaking miracles came one after another without a break until he literally suspended the law of gravity and ascended in to the opened heaven.
Acts 1:9
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
What about Peter and Paul? They all experienced opened heavens at different levels.
Acts 10:10
And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 2Corinthians 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
What do you think opened heavens did for them? A lot. All kinds of blessings, exploit, fulfilment, miracles, signs and wonders. In fact the whole world has never recovered and can never recover from the effect of their opened heavens. And now I am saying it is your turn for opened heavens. May your heaven be opened. And may it remain opened until you fulfilled your God given destiny.
A few things as a matter of course to allow heaven open. You must cooperate with God and this I mean on different and various levels. All of the people I mentioned above except Jesus started with repentance. They repented of their sins. They sought to know more about God. They love God and did services unto him. They continued as followers of God in prayers, praises and worship. Would you like your heaven to be opened? Follow the steps of these people who had their heavens opened and the world will soon notice its positive impact. God bless you.
