Peace be still (Matthew 14:22-33)

Peace be still (Matthew 14:22-33)
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
After the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus was not done yet in proving his sonship, power and grace. He straightaway went to pray and told his disciples to move ahead across the sea. He sent them on their journey and went to have fellowship with God his father. When he was done praying, he moved by his supernatural strength to join the disciples. By this time they were really struggling with the wind. Just at the point of their despair, Jesus showed up.
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
May Jesus show up in any area of life you are struggling today in the name of Jesus.
His appearance was more trouble at first because he was coming in his supernatural power, walking on the sea. He knows they were troubled so he spoke a word of comfort, it is I, do not be afraid.
Isaiah 40:1
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
Peter was excited but the wind was till on. Peter asked Jesus, whoa, you are walking on the water despite the wind, can I come with you as well? Yes come. Peter was focused on Jesus for a while and without thinking he jumped on the water and started walking. This is enough to confuse your analysis. According to a man of God, if you analyse God, you paralyse yourself.
Job 9:10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number. 11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. 12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou? Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent. 14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Both the occurrence and the lessons are very important to us. Before any major breakthrough there are likely to be a lot of contrary winds most times. At the end of the wind comes your breakthrough. Are you facing any contrary wind anywhere? Look ahead, the wind has just come to announce your promotion and breakthrough.
John 16:21
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
When Peter focused on Jesus, he walked on the sea but when he gazed at the wind, he sank. Don’t you know what I mean keep your focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will sail the vicissitudes of life with ease.
Job 14:1
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
Even when Peter started to sink, he knew what to do. He didn’t curse his stars and insult his maker, he called on Jesus to save him.
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Why don’t you learn to call out to Jesus even if you don’t know him yet and he will reach out to save you. He is even inviting you everyday. Yield unto him today and it shall be well with you.
Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Then Jesus demonstrated his authority over the wind. He spoke authoritatively, peace be still. And it was so. I speak by the authority of Jesus today to every turbulence in your health, your job, your marriage, your education, your business, your social status, your spiritual status, in fact all aspects of your troubled life, PEACE BE STILL IN THE NAME OF JESUS. amen
