Christian Doctrine (Bible Study)

Christian doctrine
Heb 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we do, if God permit. John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Luke 4:13-21; Matthew 5:17-19; John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Matthew 6:6-15
He taught about himself - God the son.
John 8:58; 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Matthew 3:17; 17:5
He taught about the Holy Spirit.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. john 14:25-31; 16:5-15
He taught about the creation, Matthew 19:4; John 5:17 the fall, sin and grace
He taught about the new birth.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
He taught about the baptism.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
He taught about the church.
He taught about heaven and hell. Luke 15:18; 12:5; Matthew 5:22; 10:28; 18:9
He taught about angels, demons and the devil. Luke 10:18; John 8:44; Mat 10:1; 12:43; 13:37-50; Mark 12:27;
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.He taught about the judgement. Mat 25:31-41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: John 8:15Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
He taught about the last things. Mat 24:3-51
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
We will devote at least one study to each of these major doctrines
Introduction
Doctrine simply means teaching. As Christians we teach what we believe. And as a matter of course our commitment to teach what we believe is the sole determinant of both the survival of the Christian faith and its exploit in the world.
In this series we are going to look at major Christian doctrines and examine their importance as well as the challenges from modern world and the contemporary secularism that confronts our faith. If we get our doctrine right as Christians it is most certain that we will get every other thing right. We will be able to express our love for God and we will be able to distinguish truth from error. The first point of call in this all important study is the bible.
Jesus laid the foundation for every major doctrine in the bible. For example:
He taught about the bible.
He taught about God the father.
